Ta Cu Mountain

Ta Cu Mountain is a short ride from the coastline inland, it is a mountain located in flat arid landscape. The mountain is only 2,100ft but from the top you get un-obstructed ocean views. You reach a long entrance road that is basically in the middle of nowhere and that takes you into the parking lot area, from there you take a cable car ( you can also walk but that takes a couple of hours )  up to the top to the Linh Sơn Trường Thọ pagoda a short walk further up past several white statues that peacefully grace the side path, lead you up to a tree sheltered massive reclining white 160ft buddha.

The statue was was built between 1963, being finally completed in 1966 and sits on a rock bed of large steps. You feel very insignificant next to it and very calm. Below the buddha they are restoring and extending a larger temple that I peeked inside to view the many concrete traditionally made casts that that they use to cast the many religious adornments for the temples inner chambers and walls.
